Jebel Ali International Airport
The largest airport in the world - Jebel Ali International Airport - is being built 40 km from Dubai International Airport, adjacent to Jebel Ali Port and Jebel Ali Free Zone. The airport is expected to be ready to receive its first aircraft by the first quarter of 2007 and the Dubai Air Show will be hosted at the venue from 2009 onwards.
The airport will consist of a number of terminals, a record breaking six parallel runways, a large area for cargo and two main entrances. When completed, the airport will have the capacity to handle 120 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo annually. All its facilities will be equipped to handle new generation aircraft including the A380.
The airport will be one of eight cluster zones of Jebel Ali Airport City: Dubai Logistics City, Commercial City, Dubai Exhibition City, Science and Technology City, Residential City, Golf Resort and Aviation City and Jebel Ali International Airport. Spanning 140 square kilometres, the project will be equipped to handle 120 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo a year, and house 750,000 inhabitants in 850 towers.
Jebel Ali Airport City will be surrounded by a strategic road network that links it to the different emirates and to some of the GCC countries. A monorail that connects with the Dubai Light Rail will also encircle it.

The visa will be stamped directly in a passport at the port of entry and will be valid for 60 days.
GCC residents can also visit Dubai without applying in advance for a visa.
For all other citizens the following applies:

• A visa must be obtained prior to arrival in the UAE.
• If hotel accommodation has been booked, the hotel will send you a visa application form and confirmation of the application processing fees.
• Fees are non-refundable should a trip and/or hotel accommodation be cancelled, or should a visa application be refused.
• Applicants must allow for seven to 10 working days for a visa to be issued, keeping in mind that the weekend in the UAE falls on Thursday and Friday.
• All visa processing is subject to receipt of the following documents:
  • Clear photocopy of passport
  • Visa form duly completed and signed
  • A photocopy of the front and back of a valid credit card
• All visas are subject to revision by the UAE government

On Arrival
On arrival at the airport, visitors who have applied for a visa should collect the original visa permit at the specially designated desks located at the end of the Arrivals Tunnel before taking the escalators to the passport control desks.
